Jack is a Registered Architect in multiple states.  He received his BA from Baylor University and B Arch with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin.  Jack established JDM Associates – Architects/Planners in 1975 and has practiced under that name as a sole proprietor since that time.  Architectural experience has ranged from Master Planning to  Educational, Commercial, Medical, and Industrial Projects.

He established AE Support Group in 1987, providing various services to the Architectural and Engineering Communities, including accessibility consulting.  Jack was one of the first contract providers to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to do plan reviews and inspections.  He was among the first fifty to enter the Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) program.   He received an I.C.C. Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner certification in 2001.  AE Support has performed thousands of plan reviews and inspections since 1993.  AE Support Group now provides nationwide ADA inspections, transition plans, and Fair Housing Assessments.

As one of the charter members of what is now the Accessibility Professionals Association (APA), he served as President of the organization in 2018.  Since 2015, he has guided the development of the APA/ADA Specialist Examinations.  Jack was a subject matter expert for developing the first national certification examination for accessibility consultants (APAC-BE).   He currently serves on the APAC board of directors overseeing the national test. 

Jack has taught numerous ADA-related programs in APA seminars and developed and taught specialized ADA courses for nationwide corporate clients.  He has been an expert witness in accessibility litigation and architectural contract disputes.

With over thirty years of experience in accessibility evaluation and design and fifty years of experience in architectural design, Jack brings our clients a wealth of diverse expertise.  His volunteer and teaching experience offers rare insights to share with both students and clients.
